Barkcloth is renewable material harvested from the bark of the Mutuba tree, an East African fig. After carefully peeling the bark, the tree is wrapped and sealed, allowing it to heal and regenerate, so no harm is done. Through her work, Tink uses traditional leathering techniques to hole punch nature-inspired designs honoring the environment. The body of work was created during her residency at The Safari Series, in Kenya. The landscape, Wildlife and Community had a huge impact on her artwork.
